WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State University baseball team will hold a 2012 WSSU Pitching/Catching Clinic on January 28th. Open the athletes from ages 6-18, the clinic will be a great opportunity for young pitchers and catchers to develop their skills and become better players.
The pitcher/catcher clinic will take place on January 28th in the Gaines Center on the campus of WSSU from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The clinic will be led by current Rams pitching coach Keith Ritsche, who is also the pitching coach for the Madison Mallards of the Northwoods Collegiate Baseball League, a premiere wooden bat collegiate league for top players throughout the country. The pitching clinic is designed to analyze a pitcher's abilities using professional style grade-outs. Through video analysis, individualized instruction, and live throwing sessions, each player attending the clinic will be taught the mechanical methods to improve their knowledge of pitching and all-around performance. Each pitcher will receive an individual video on a CD that includes analysis on their skill evaluations.
Catchers will focus receiving, blocking, throwing to all bases, bunting routes, tag plays, pitching calling and strength and conditioning. Head Coach Kevin Ritsche will be on hand to demonstrate drills and instruct campers on proper technique.
The cost of the 1-day pitching/catching clinic is $75.
