CIAA TOURNAMENT PAIRINGS ANNOUNCED

CHARLOTTE, NC -- The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association has released its pairings for the 2012 Basketball Tournament as determined by the CIAA Tournament Committee, and Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams will play Tuesday, while the Rams men's team will play on Thursday.

Both men's and women's play begins on opening day, Tuesday, February 28th at Time Warner Cable Arena.  Semifinals and finals games will be televised on Bounce TV and ESPNU. 

The #3S Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams will enter the tournament with a record of 17-9 overall, 12-4 in the CIAA and 6-4 in the Southern Division.  The Lady Rams will meet #6N Lincoln University (PA) (7-21 overall, 3-13 in the CIAA and 3-7 in the Northern Division) on Tuesday at 5:00 PM at Time Warner Cable Arena.

The WSSU Men 18-8 overall, 10-6 in the CIAA and 4-6 in the division will enter the tourney as the #3 seed from the Southern Division. The Rams will face the Panthers of Virginia Union. Virginia Union (15-13 overall, 10-6 in the CIAA and 7-3 in the Division) enters the tournament as the #2 seed from the Northern Division.
