Bright Earns First Team All-CIAA Honors

CHARLOTTE, NC – The honors are coming in for the Winston-Salem State Rams as four players were named to the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) All-Conference Team. Winston-Salem State junior defensive lineman Jarrell Bright earned first team All-CIAA honors while three more Rams earned second team honors.
Bright earned a spot on the all-conference team for the second straight season. He finished the season ranked second on the team with 46 total tackles (29 solo) for the season. He also added 6.5 tackles for a loss of 32 yards, including four sacks for 25 yards. He also recorded a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
Along with Bright, there is also a trio of Rams to earn second-team All-CIAA honors. Senior offensive lineman Donald Adams-Baggett, redshirt-junior running back Kerrion Moore, and senior punt returner Canard Brown all earned second-team All-CIAA honors. Adams-Baggett started all 10 games on a Rams offensive line that paved the way for 3,330 yards of total offense.  Much of that offense came from Moore, who led the Rams' rushing attack for the second straight season, compiling 889 rushing yards with 10 touchdowns before suffering a season ending injury in the Rams' last road game at Livingstone College. Like Moore, Brown also had a great season cut short by injury. He finished the season ranked second in the CIAA with 164 yards and a touchdown in punt returns.
The Rams also had pair of players to earn CIAA All-Conference Honorable Mention honors as well. Sophomore defensive back Daryus Skinner and junior offensive lineman Tim Samuels both earned honorable mention. Skinner finished the season tied for fourth place in the conference with three interceptions. He also recorded 44 total tackles (31 solo) with three tackles for a loss and a pass breakup.
