CLEVELAND, OH – Winston-Salem State University junior free safety Daryus Skinner was rewarded for a spectacular season when he was honored with a spot on the 2018 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (CCA) All-Super Region 2 Football Team. Skinner earned second team honors after proving to be one of the top defensive backs in the nation.
In 2018, Skinner had one of the best individual seasons in school history for a defensive back. He finished the season with 11 interceptions, one shy of tying a school record and finishing leading the nation in interceptions. Making his performance even more impressive was the fact that he had such a season in just nine games. In addition to his national-best 11 interceptions, Skinner also added 30 total tackles (15 solo) with two pass breakups.
In addition to earning the all-region honor, Skinner earned first team Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) All-Conference honors as well.
