WSSU and City of Winston-Salem Announce Homecoming Parking Information

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State University Police Department, the City of Winston-Salem, and the WSSU Department of Athletics has released game day parking information for Saturday's Homecoming football game between the Winston-Salem State University Rams and the Livingstone College Blue Bears.

 

In addition to the standard three parking lots for other football games, there will be other overflow lots available. In addition to the South Lot, East Lot, and the West Lot, there will also be overflow parking spaces available in Lot P, and Lot 6 as well as a Utilities Lot available. Access to the Supplemental Parking Lot is available from Tower Street. The Utilities Lot is accessible from Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive. Prices for the various lots are listed below.

 

Regarding the safety and parking at Bowman Gray Stadium along Research Parkway. The median and the sides of Research Parkway remained roped off and there will be an enhanced police presence along Research Parkway at Bowman Gray Stadium.


Additionally, the city and N.C. Department of Transportation have placed No Parking signs along the portion of Research Parkway between U.S. 52 and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. That portion of Research Parkway is a state-maintained road.

Police officers will also enforce the parking laws along Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to ensure the safety of pedestrians and vehicles using the road. No vehicles are allowed on sidewalks or in travel lanes, nor may they be parked in designated No Parking zones.

Traffic operations at all events at Bowman Gray Stadium, including Winston-Salem State University football and Bowman Gray racing, continue to be a joint responsibility of the City of Winston-Salem and the WSSU police departments for the past five years. The departments use the same operating procedures at all events.
