2010: Desmond had a solid season for the Rams…He competed in all six cross country meets…Desmond had a personal record of 24:23 at the Inaugural Wilbur Ross Invitational…At the 2011 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Men’s Cross Country Championships, he placed 3rd with a time of 26:06.0 to help lead the Rams to a conference title…The time was his second best of the season.

2009: Desmond had another great season as a sophomore for the Rams…He was one of the team’s top runners as a sophomore…He had a pair of fourth place finishes at the UNC-Pembroke Invitational and the Salem College Invitational…His best 8K time of the season came at the Race of Champions at the American Cross Country Festival…He finished 72nd with a 27:17 at the event.

2008: Desmond had a great freshman season with the Rams with some of the top finishes on the team all season long…He opened the season with a great effort at the UNC-Pembroke Invitational…He finished the 6,437m event in 21:45.67 and finished third in the event…He posted another top 20 finish one week later at the Adidas Wolfpack Invitational…He finished the 5K event in 16:41 and placed 16th…His best 8K effort of the season came at the Walt Disney World Cross Country Classic where he finished 88th in 27:38.40.

Personal: Desmond will join the Rams cross country team this fall…He is a talented runner who should give the team a lift this season…He is a well-decorated high school athlete at Zebulon B. Vance High School…He earned numerous honors including being named a four-time All-Conference honoree, a two-time All-Region honoree, and an All-State honoree…He was a two-time conference champion and a two-time conference champion…He also earned numerous indoor track & field honors as well…He earned All-State honors in the 200m dash and in the 1600m run…He also earned a number of honors in outdoor track & field, including being named to the All-State team in six events and making the all-region team nine times, and earning all-conference honors 12 times…He was also a two-time conference MVP in outdoor track & field...He is a Business Administration major and is the son of Desmond and Joan Wiggan.
