WSSU's Turner named 2010 CIAA Men's and Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year

HAMPTON, VA - Winston-Salem State Cross Country coach Inez Turner was named the 2010 CIAA Men's and Women's Coach of the Year by the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association Cross Country Coaches Association. This marks the first time a cross country coach from Winston-Salem State has been awarded the honor.

Coach Turner claimed both the Men's and Women's Team top accolade in a dominate performance at the 2010 CIAA Cross Country Championships. The Rams and Lady Rams swept this season's Cross Country Championships with final team scores of 26 and 34 points, respectively.

This is a year of firsts for Turner and the Rams' cross country team. This season marks Coach Turner's first year at the helm for the Rams; WSSU's first-ever cross country championship title and the school's first year back in the conference after a near five-year hiatus.
