WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (10-13, 5-8 CIAA) faded late when the team took a hard-fought 73-54 loss to the Shaw Lady Bears (20-5, 12-1 CIAA), Wednesday evening on the annual Play 4 Kay Breast Cancer Awareness Game. The Rams played well for much of the game, but a late drought that included an eight-point fourth quarter cost the Rams the game.[read more]

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (9-11) played one of their most complete games of the season when the team took an impressive 62-56 win over the Paine Lions (7-15), Wednesday evening. Though the Rams had some impressive play at both ends of the court, the team still had to fend off a scrappy Paine team that pushed the Rams for all 40 minutes of the game.[read more]
February 1, 2016Rams Outgunned in 83-56 Loss to #20 Virginia UnionWINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (8-12, 4-7 CIAA) gave it a great effort, but the team could not overcome the high-powered #20 Virginia Union Panthers (16-2, 8-2 CIAA). The Rams played well offensively, but the team could not stop the Virginia Union Panthers in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) crossover match up.
January 30, 2016Rams Take Heartbreaking 53-51 Loss at LivingstoneSALISBURY, NC – For the second time in the last three days, the Winston-Salem State Rams (8-11, 4-6 CIAA) saw a third quarter lead turn into a late loss when the team took a heartbreaking 53-51 road loss to the Livingstone Blue Bears (11-8, 6-4 CIAA). After holding a 51-51 tie with just 18 seconds left, the Rams allowed Blue Bears basket with just two seconds left to end the afternoon with the loss.
January 27, 2016Fourth Quarter Costs Rams in 62-58 Loss to Johnson C. SmithWINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State University Rams (8-10, 4-5 CIAA) fell victim to a fourth-quarter rally by the Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls (13-8, 6-4 CIAA), Wednesday evening. After leading 46-36 after the first three quarters of play, the Rams were outscored 26-12 to send the team to a heartbreaking loss.
January 25, 2016Rams Take 51-44 Defensive Win Over Fayetteville StateWINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (8-9, 4-4 CIAA) got key Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division win, Monday evening when the team took a 51-44 win over the Fayetteville State Lady Broncos (11-9, 5-4 CIAA). In a game that featured some strong defense from both teams, the Rams were able to come out on top to improve to 2-1 in the CIAA Southern Division.
