ELIZABETH CITY, NC – The Winston-Salem State University Rams (1-3) women's basketball team just could not manage enough offense when the team took a 73-59 loss to the Wilmington (Del.) Wildcats in the opening game of the Elizabeth City State University Classic. Though the Rams had a solid overall effort, the team could not slow down a hot-shooting Wildcats team.[read more]

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (1-2) could not overcome foul troubles and several costly turnovers in a 66-55 loss to the University of Virginia-Wise Cavaliers (1-0), Wednesday evening. With 33 turnovers and 31 total fouls, the Rams struggled to get their offense into gear against the Cavaliers.[read more]

SHEPERD, WVA – The Winston-Salem State University Rams (0-1) women’s basketball team opened the season on a down note when the team took a tough 75-61 loss to the Pitt-Johnstown Mountain Cats (1-0) at the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA)/Mountain East Conference (MEC) Challenge. After playing to the Mountain Cats to a 31-31 tie, the team ran out of steam in the second half as they were outscored 44-30 to take the loss.[read more]

Some preseason injuries to key players left the Rams a bit shorthanded as the team dressed just eight players in the game, but there was no shortage of effort for the Rams in the hard-fought loss.
