CHARLOTTE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (11-17) gave it all they had, but they just couldn’t overcome some foul troubles and some tough defense in an 88-59 loss to the Shaw Lady Bears in the second round of the 2015 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women’s Basketball Championship Tournament, Wednesday. The Lady Rams finished the game with 31 total team fouls and three key foul outs in the game while shooting just 33.3% from the floor in the hard-fought loss.[read more]
February 24, 2015Lady Rams Take 73-58 Win Over Chowan at CIAA TournamentCHARLOTTE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (11-16) exploded in the second half to take a 73-58 win over the Chowan Hawks (13-14) in the opening round of the 2015 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women’s Basketball Championship Tournament. After battling to a 27-27 first half tie, the Lady Rams outscored the Hawks 46-31 in the second half to take home the victory.

The Lady Rams pushed the Blue Bears, the top team in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region to its limits, but they could not pull out the victory, Saturday.

She took home all-conference honors for the second time during her collegiate career after finishing the season as one of the team’s top overall performers.

SmithWINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (10-15, 6-9 CIAA) couldn’t find any answers when the team took a tough 76-62 loss to the Johnson C. Smith (20-6, 10-5 CIAA), Wednesday afternoon. Though there was no shortage of effort for the Lady Rams, the team just could not get past shooting struggles that plagued them for all 40 minutes of the game.

With the regular season winding down, the Lady Rams picked up a key victory in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division. The team took the win behind a stellar defensive effort that included forcing 27 turnovers and was combined with a solid offensive performance with the team scoring 38 second half points to take home the victory.

The loss was a critical one for the Lady Rams as they remain in fifth place in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division.
