Lady Rams Post 3-2 Record on Second Day of CIAA Southern Division Meet
FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (13-8, 13-8 CIAA) had another strong day at the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division meet, Saturday. The Lady Rams posted a solid 3-2 record at the event with senior Candace Spinks leading the way for the team.
The Lady Rams opened the second day of the event on a high note with three straight wins. The Lady Rams took a 738-634 win over Shaw to open the day, followed by a 749-582 win over Johnson C. Smith. The Lady Rams capped their early run with an 830-689 win over Livingstone. Things would get challenging for the Lady Rams with a tough 871-786 loss to Saint Augustine's, followed by a tough 914-803 loss to host Fayetteville State.
WSSU senior Candace Spinks led the way for the Lady Rams, totaling 825 total pins for the second straight day. Senior Shanice Marshall had the best single-game effort of the day with a 202 against Livingstone. She wasn't the only WSSU bowler to break 200 as Spinks rolled a 200 against Fayetteville State.
