FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (17-9, 17-9 CIAA) closed out the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division Meet on a high note with a 4-1 record in Baker games play to close out the meet. The team's only loss of the day came in a close match against the host Fayetteville State Lady Broncos. After that match, the team won four straight matches to close out the day on a high note.
The Lady Rams opened the day on a down note, but gave a great effort in a 644-632 loss to the host Fayetteville State Lady Broncos. From there, the team went on for a great day with four straight wins. The team got things started with a 683-617 win over Saint Augustine's College. The team's 683 pins in the match were their highest of the day. The Lady Rams followed up their effort with a 620-517 win over Livingstone, a 639-444 win over Johnson C. Smith, and a 660-519 win over Shaw.
The Lady Rams will return to action on February 10th when the team heads to Charlotte, N.C. to take part in the CIAA Cross Divisional Meet, hosted by Johnson C. Smith University.
