Lady Rams Bowling Posts 3-2 Record to Open CIAA Southern Division Meet

FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (32-16, 32-16 CIAA) made their return to the lanes on a positive note with a 3-2 record on the opening day of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Divisional Meet, Friday. The Lady Rams opened the day with three straight wins, before taking a pair of losses to end the day.

The Lady Rams got things started early with an 804-641 win over Shaw. The team followed the effort with an 813-587 win over Johnson C. Smith, and closed their hot streak with an 831-720 win over Livingstone. However, the Lady Rams faded late in the day with losses to Saint Augustine's (947-834) and to host Fayetteville State (949-741).

As a team, the Lady Rams totaled 4,023 pins on the opening day of the event. WSSU senior Jameka Johnson led the way for the Lady Rams with 886 total pins on opening day. She posted a team-best single-game total of 200 as well as a 199. WSSU freshman Raven Forest also added an 808 on the day as well.
