Lady Rams Break Out for 17-0 Win Over Livingstone

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (13-5, 6-1 CIAA) opened Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Divsiion play in style when the team took a domination 17-0 win over the Livingstone Lady Blue Bears (5-7, 2-6 CIAA), Sunday afternoon. The Lady Rams took the win behind a stellar offensive output that saw the team break out for 17 hits in the game.

In addition to their great offensive effort, the team played some stellar defense, holding the Lady Blue Bears scoreless and allowing just four hits in the game. WSSU senior outfielder Francesca Edgerton led the way for the Lady Rams with a four-for-four effort at the plate with three run scored and an RBI. Junior third base Katrina Bartlett added a two-for-three performance at the plate with a home run, three runs scored, and an RBI.

Senior pitcher Yasmin Lee (3-2) took the pitching victory with five innings pitched and four hits allowed. She also recorded four strikeouts with no batters walked.
