    CHARLOTTE, NC – Winston-Salem State Rams redshirt-freshman Jasmine McCain got the 2019 season started with a bang when she was named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Softball Rookie of the Week. She took home the honor after a terrific week both in the field and at the plate for the Rams.

    ACWORTH, GA – The Winston-Salem State Rams (4-1) got back to their winning ways when the team took a 9-1 five-inning win over the Clark Atlanta Panthers at the HBCU DII Tournament, Saturday morning. The Rams took the win behind a great overall defensive effort and some great offense in the win.

    ACWORTH, GA – The Winston-Salem State Rams (5-1) kept their strong offensive day going when the team took a 6-1 win over the Kentucky  State Thorobreds (1-2) at the HBCU DII Tournament, Saturday afternoon. The Rams had and early offensive breakout that pushed the team to the win with four of their six runs coming in the first inning of play.

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams softball team will have a different location to open the 2019 season as the team’s doubleheader against the Benedict Tigers will be played at the Parkland High Softball Field instead of Twin City Field where the Rams usually call home. The change was made due to field conditions at Twin City Field.

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (2-0) got some clutch hits when the team took a 2-1 win over the Benedict Tigers (0-2), Friday afternoons. After taking a 0-1 deficit into the sixth inning, the Rams tied the game in the sixth inning and got a walk-off run in the bottom of the seventh inning to claim the win.

    CHARLOTTE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams softball team will have a chip to place on their shoulders as the team was picked to finish eighth in the 2019 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Softball Preseason Predicted Order of Finish, Wednesday. The Rams will head into the 2019 season looking to prove those predictions wrong.
