Chambers, Davis Named to Division II CCA All-America Team

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Winston-Salem State Rams softball brought in two more prestigious honors when junior second base Daijah Chambers and junior designated hitter Erica Davis were both named to the 2019 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (CCA) All-America Softball Team. The duo took home the honors after leading the Rams to a 33-13 record, winning the 2019 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Softball Championship, and earning a seventh-seed in the 2019 NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Tournament.

Chambers was a first team All-American selection at the second base position. She took home the honor after recording a .462 batting average with 45 runs scored and 44 RBI. Her batting performance also included nine doubles, five triples, and nine home runs. Defensively, she turned in a .978 fielding percentage with 78 putouts, 54 assists, and being a part of three double plays.

Davis was a third-team All-American selection at the designated player position. She earned the honor after batting .449 for the season with 10 doubles, a triple, and four home runs with 32 RBI. She was also the Rams' top pitcher with a 15-8 record with 95 strikeouts in 141.0 innings of play.
