    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (0-7) could not find their way when the team took a 2-0 loss to the Charleston (W.Va) Golden Eagles (2-0), Friday afternoon. The Rams played some great defense in the game, but the team was stifled by a tremendous Golden Eagle pitching attack.

    CHARLOTTE, NC – One of the early signs of spring hit, Thursday when the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) announced its 2018 Preseason Softball All-Conference team and predicted order of finish. The Winston-Salem State junior duo of second base Jasmine Holloman and designated player Destiny Snipes were both earned spots on the all-conference team. The Rams were picked to finish third in the CIAA Southern Division and fifth overall in the preseason predictions.

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State (0-5) Rams softball team gave a strong offensive effort, but the team could not hold off the hard-hitting Barton Bulldogs (3-5) in a 16-6 loss. The Rams had a solid offensive game with six runs scored. However, the Rams could not hold the hard-hitting Barton Bulldogs at bay in the loss.

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (0-4) gave a great effort for seven innings, but the team struggled in extra innings to take a 12-2 loss to the Barton Bulldogs (2-5), Monday afternoon. The score belied a strong overall effort by the Rams, but the team had one costly inning of struggles that cost the team the loss.

    PEMBROKE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (0-3) knocked out seven hits, but the team could only plate two runs in a hard-fought 7-2 loss to the Kutztown Bears (1-2), Saturday, morning. The Rams had a solid day at the plate, but the team could not get their runs across the plate in the loss.

After falling behind, 6-2, the Rams scored four runs late in the game, but allowed a pair of runs to the Raiders to take the hard-fought loss.

  • Former Ram Hargett Named Assistant Softball Coach at Alabama A&M University

    HUNTSVILLE, AL – After a successful playing career, former Winston-Salem State Rams softball player Mercedes Hargett will begin her coaching career as she was named as an assistant softball coach at Alabama A&M University. She will begin immediately with the Lady Bulldogs program, an NCAA Division I school.

  • Rams Softball Camp Postponed Until August 26th

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – Due to sporadic rains and thunderstorms forecast throughout the upcoming weekend, the Winston-Salem State Softball Camp has been postponed. Originally scheduled to take place from Sunday, August 13th through Tuesday, August 15th, the camp has been pushed back and will take from Saturday, August 26th through Sunday, August 27th.
  • Snipes Earns First Team NCCSIA All-State Team Honors

    GREENSBORO, NC – Winston-Salem State sophomore designated hitter Destiny Snipes earned yet another post-season honor when she was named to the 2017 North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) College Division All-State team. The honor was the third post-season honor for her as she also earned Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) First Team All-Conference honors as well as the Conference Commissioner’s Association (CCA) Atlantic All-Region/District 2 team.

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – Winston-Salem State designated player Destiny Snipes earned another honor after a great season in 2017. After leading the Rams offense for much of the season, she was named to the 2017 Conference Commissioner’s Association (CCA) NCAA Division II All-Atlantic Region/District 2 team. This marked the second straight season that she earned the honor after some stellar performances at the plate.

    PETERSBURG, VA – The Winston-Salem State Rams (16-31) had their season ended, Friday when the team took a 10-2 loss to the Bowie State Bulldogs (21-19) in the elimination round of the 2017 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Softball Championship. The Rams gave a strong effort in the game, but the team struggled to find their offense and could not keep up with the high-powered Bowie State Bulldogs.

    PETERSBURG, VA – The Winston-Salem State Rams (16-30) broke out for a seventh-inning rally to claim a 10-5 win over the Saint Augustine’s Falcons (16-14) in the elimination round of the 2017 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Softball Championship Tournament. The Rams scored seven runs in the final inning of the game to secure the victory and remained in contention to defend their conference championship.

The Rams pushed the top team in the conference to their very limits in the tough loss.

The win gave the Rams their third straight win to end the regular season and some momentum heading into the post-season.

Smith Golden Bulls (11-13, 5-5 CIAA). The Rams needed just two swings of the bat to take the win with all three runs coming on home runs.

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – For the third straight season, the Winston-Salem State Rams softball team will its annual Strike Out Cancer game. The Rams will use the sport to raise awareness of cancer and to also raise funds for the local chapter of the American Cancer Society.
