Personal: The 2009-10 season will mark Locklear's first season as a member of the Lady Rams' tennis team. Locklear, a 5-6, right-handed singles player from H.D. Woodson High School in Washington, D.C. will be expected to immediately step into the Lady Rams' lineup and make an impact. A four-year starter at H.D. Woodson High School, Locklear was named her team's MVP her senior season. A native of Washington, D.C., Locklear began her competitive tennis play at the prestigious Washington Tennis and Education Foundation. Early in her career Locklear earned a sixth place finish in singles play at the 2000 American Tennis Association (ATA) national championships. Locklear earned a third place finish in singles play at the 2002 ATA National Championships and was a finalist in the 2004 ATA National Championships as well as earning a berth in the finals at the District of Columbia Youth Championships in 2004. A talented singles player, Locklear is a decorated doubles performer as well as she earned an ATA National Championship in 2004. Locklear will be expected to step into the Lady Rams' lineup in the fall of 2009 and make an immediate impact in one of the top three singles flights as well as being slated for one of the top two doubles rotations.
