Rams Open 2019 Season with an 8-1 Loss to Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (0-1) opened the 2019 season with a strong effort, but the team could not get past the Salem Tigers (5-2), Sunday afternoon. Playing in high winds, the Rams played some quality tennis but came up just short in the loss.

The Rams opened the day with three losses in doubles play. The team took a default loss at #3 doubles followed by a 6-2 loss at #1 doubles and a 6-1 loss at #2 doubles.

In singles play, the Rams were able to score a point with junior Cylah Gaither taking a 6-2, 6-2 win at #5 singles. The Rams took a default loss at #6 singles and losses at #1, #2, #3, and #4 singles.
