Lady Rams Tennis Falls To Howard University 7-0

March 14, 2007

Final Stats

WASHINGTON, DC - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams tennis team was swept by Howard University by the score of 7-0 as WSSU, despite strong play at both the second and third singles flights, was unable to record a point versus the Bison.

Amanda Walker and Carmen Davis both turned in solid performances as the Lady Rams continue to improve in WSSU's first full season at the Division I level.

WSSU fell behind early in the match as they forfeited the fifth and sixth singles flights and compounded the deficit by turning over the third doubles match of the day via forfeit as well.

Howard capitalized on their early advantage and swept the remainder of the matches en route to the 7-0 victory.

The loss drops the Lady Rams to 1-10 on the season as Howard improves to 5-4 overall.  Winston-Salem State returns to action on Friday, March 16, 2007 at 3:00 pm as they face UNC-Wilmington in a neutral site contest hosted in Cary, NC.
