Seattle University Downs Lady Rams' Tennis 6-1

FARMVILLE, Va. – The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams tennis team fell in defeat to Seattle University on Sunday afternoon in Farmville, Va. 6-1 as Sloane Holmes recorded WSSU’s lone point of the afternoon from second-day action in the Women’s Independent Tennis Tournament hosted by Longwood University.
Holmes, trailing 2-1 at first singles earned the victory when Seattle University’s Ariel Ohno retired as Holmes tallied the Lady Rams’ only point of the match.
Seattle University earned straight-set victories in the remaining five singles matches and swept all three doubles matches en route to the 6-1 victory.
The loss drops the Lady Rams to 6-17 on the season overall. WSSU returns to action when they face Longwood University in the Lady Rams’ final match of the 2010 season.
