Lady Rams, Rams Close Out Virginia Tech Challenge in Style
BLACKSBURG, VA – The Winston-Salem State Rams and Lady Rams track & field teams closed out the 2012 indoor season in style with some dynamic performances at the 2012 Virginia Tech Challenge. The Rams and Lady Rams continued their march towards the NCAA Division II Nationals with even more qualifying times posted at the event.
The Lady Rams 4x400m relay team highlighted the event with a second place in the event. The team posted a 3:46.40 in the event, an automatic qualifying time for the NCAA Division II Nationals. Freshman Ebone Evans finished eight in the women's 60m hurdles finals. Sophomore Brittney Killebrew continued her great sophomore season with a 14th-place in the women's 400m dash. She finished the event in 58.47.
The Rams also had some great efforts with junior Andrew Chebii placing fifth in the men's 800m run with a 1:53.59, an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time.
