Lamons Leads Fantastic Day Two at 2012 NCAA Division II National Championships

MANKATO, MN – The Winston-Salem State University Rams and Lady Rams track & field teams did not shy away in the national spotlight as members of the Rams and Lady Rams competed in the finals of the 2012 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Championships, Saturday.

The Rams and Lady Rams both has sprinters competing in the 200m dash finals of the event. WSSU senior sprinter Shanika Lamons led the way when she finished fifth in the women's 200m dash finals with a 24.82. Freshman sprinter Michael Neal placed seventh in the men's 200m dash finals with a 21.81 in the event.

The Lady Rams 4x400m relay team also had a great day when the team finished eighth at the event with a 3:50.27 in the event.

The effort capped a fantastic indoor track & field season for the Rams and Lady Rams teams, who sent six student-athletes to the 2012 NCAA Division II Indoor Track  & Field National Championships and will serve as a great springboard to the upcoming outdoor track & field season.
