Lady Rams Multi-Events Impressive at WSSU Collegiate Invitational
WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams track & field team opened the 2012 Winston-Salem State Collegiate Invitational with a pair of strong performances in the women's heptathlon, Friday afternoon. WSSU junior Crystal Webley put on a strong performance in front of the hometown crowd, winning three of the five events in the women's heptathlon.
Webley posted wins in the women's 100m hurdles, the shot put, and the women's 200m dash. She opened the day with a win in the women's 100m hurdles with a 14.62. She went on to win the women's shot put with a 10.96, and she capped the day with a win in the women's 200m dash with a 25.50.
The Rams and Lady Rams will close out the meet with a full schedule of events. The WSSU Collegiate Invitational is scheduled for a 9:30 a.m. start at Civitan Park on the campus of Winston-Salem State University.
