COACH RITSCHE ON WELLS: “Scott was my biggest surprise last year. He was our most improved player and due to his hard work ethic has become our most consistent fielder. He hit over .300 as a freshman and since then has improved offensively as well. For his efforts, I have chosen him as one of my 2012 captains. Scott will be relied upon more as a positional this season due to the increased depth of our pitching staff.”
