Rams Bounce Back With 3-2 Win Over Indiana University of Pennsylvania

In game two, Winston-Salem State got on the board first, and held off the Crimson Hawks, 3-2, as the Rams were able to come away with a win in the nightcap.

With the win, WSSU improves to 6-11 overall, while IUP falls to 3-4 on the season.

Winston-Salem State would score twice in the third inning off of two timely hits. Willie McRae singled to start the inning and Randy Norris would walk. Brandon Ford continued to swing a hot bat, as he would triple to deep left center field, allowing McRae and Norris to score.

The Rams would plate an insurance run in the fifth inning, when Randy Norris walked and promptly stole second base. Brandon Ford would single to center field scoring Norris, to give the WSSU Rams a 4-1 lead.

IUP would get closer in the sixth inning, getting a run on three hits, to cur the Rams lead to 3-2 heading into the final innings.

Brandon Ford paced the Rams, going 2 for 3 with three run batted in, while Randy Norris went 0 for 1 with two runs scored. Ivan Acuna went 2 for 3, and Willie McRae went 2 for 3 with a run scored.

Johnathan Cummings picked up the win for WSSU, throwing 1.1 innings out of the bullpen. Landon Steiner got eh save for the Rams, pitching the last 1.1 innings, with two strikeouts.
