RALEIGH, NC – The Winston-Salem State University basketball duo of senior forward William Crandell and junior guard Robert Colon were both named to the 2019 BOXTOROW All-America Team, Monday afternoon. The honor comes in addition to Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) All-Conference honors for both players as well.
Crandell finished the season as the team's leading scorer and rebounder. He finished the season averaging 15.6 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. He totaled 406 points for the season and 101 rebounds. He finished season ranked eighth in CIAA in scoring and 10th in rebounding. His best game of the season came against Claflin when he scored 29 points with 10 rebounds. He finished the season with three double-doubles.
Colon had a breakout season of his own. He finished the season averaging 15.5 points per game. He was especially dangerous from long range when he connected on 62-of-194 three-pointers. He led the Rams in total points with 419. He finished the season ranked seventh in the CIAA in scoring and he was fifth in the conference in three-pointers made.
