Flowers Named CIAA Defensive Back of the Week

 

CHARLOTTE, NC – Winston-Salem State senior defensive back Joshua Flowers capped a tremendous performance when he was named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Defensive Back of the Week. He took home the honor after playing the best game of his career in leading the Rams to a 23-7 win over the Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls, Saturday.

Flowers put on a show for the Rams when he had the best game of his career. The highlight of the game came when he pulled in three interceptions with a pass breakup in the game. He also tied his career-high with five total tackles (four solo) in the game.

Monday marks the first time that Flowers has been named the CIAA Defensive Back of the Week. The Rams will return to action, Saturday when the team hosts the Saint Augustine's Falcons in Furniture City Gridiron Classic.
