Massey Named to Sylvia Circle Demons Pop Warner Hall of Fame

ROCK HILL, SC – Winston-Salem State University Interim Head Football Coach Robert Massey received a tremendous honor over the weekend when he was inducted into the Sylvia Circle Demons Pop Warner Football Hall of Fame. In addition to being inducted into the hall of fame, his iconic #60 jersey was retired as well.

"It's an honor to be one of those go into the Sylvia Circle Demons Hall of Fame, especially by those in my home town," Massey said. "It's great and I really appreciate it."

The honor comes as one of numerous honors for the head coach of the Rams football program. He had a terrific playing career at North Carolina Central University where he ranked third on the Eagles' al-time career interceptions list and he earned All-CIAA honors as a junior and as a senior and All-American honors as a senior. He was drafted by the New Orleans Saints where he made the 1989 NFL All-Rookie Team and he was selected for the 1992 Pro Bowl as a member of the Arizona Cardinals. He played 10 seasons in the NFL before retiring as a member of the New York Giants in 1998.

Massey and other honorees were recognized at the 9th Annual Sylvia Circle Demons Football Camp presented by Jadaveon Clowney's H.I.T. Foundation and the YMCA last Saturday.
