    CHARLOTTE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (15-12) suffered heartbreak and disappointment, Tuesday afternoon when the team took a gut-wrenching 64-62 upset loss to Lincoln (Pa.) Lady Lions (12-15). After taking a 52-40 lead with just under 10 minutes left to play, the Lady Rams were outscored 24-10 in the final nine minutes of the game and missed some critical free throws in the final seconds to end the game with the heartbreaking loss.

    CHARLOTTE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams will open the 2014 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women’s Basketball Championship Tournament against the Lincoln (Pa.) Lady Lions, Tuesday afternoon at the Time Warner Cable Arena. The Lady Rams finished the 2013-14 regular season as the third seed in the CIAA Southern Division for the fourth straight season after posting a 9-7 record in CIAA play and a 5-5 record in the CIAA Southern Division.

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (15-11, 9-7 CIAA) clicked on all cylinders with the team took an impressive 82-65 senior night win over the Livingstone Lady Blue Bears (12-14, 7-9 CIAA), Saturday evening. The Lady Rams took the win behind a great overall effort at both ends of the court as they took control of the game early and never looked back on their way to their second straight win.

Smith Lady Golden Bulls (13-11, 8-7 CIAA), Wednesday evening. In a game that saw momentum swing to both ends of the court for all 40 minutes, the Lady Rams came up big when they needed to in order to take home the victory.

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (13-11, 7-7 CIAA, 3-5 CIAA South) gave it their all, but the team came up short in a tough 68-59 loss to the Shaw Lady Bears (16-8, 10-4 CIAA, 6-2 CIAA South), Monday evening. The Lady Rams gave a great effort in the game, keeping the game within reach for nearly all 40 minutes of play. However, the team fell victim to a late surge by the Lady Bears and took their second straight loss.

    FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams gave a great effort, but the effort was not enough as the team took a 75-65 loss at Fayetteville State, Saturday afternoon. For the third straight game, the Lady Rams trailed late and made a strong effort to come back, but the team fell short in the key Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division game.

    RALEIGH, NC – For the second straight week, the Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (13-9, 7-5 CIAA) staged a furious second half comeback to take a win when they defeated the Saint Augustine’s Lady Falcons (10-11, 5-7 CIAA), 65-62 at Emery Gymnasium. After trailing by as many as nine points midway through the second half, the Lady Rams clamped down to take their second straight road win.

    SALISBURY, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (12-9, 6-5 CIAA) found a way to win in a 64-60 victory over the Livingstone College Lady Blue Bears (10-9, 5-4 CIAA), Saturday evening. After trailing by as many as 19 points near the midpoint of the second, half, the team turned on a stellar defensive effort to take the win and snapped a three-game skid. The win also gave the team a big Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division win.

Aycock High School in Pikeville, North Carolina. The Lady Rams gave a valiant effort in front of a packed house, but could not pull out the win as the team suffered back-to-back losses for just the second time this season.

    RALEIGH, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (11-7 , 5-3 CIAA) took their toughest loss of the season when the team suffered a 93-49 road loss to the Shaw Lady Bears (12-7, 6-2 CIAA), Wednesday evening. The loss was the largest margin of defeat for the Lady Rams this season and handed the team its first Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division loss of the season. Though the Lady Rams battled at both ends of the court, the team could not stop a Shaw Lady Bears team that clicked on all cylinders all game long.

After a tough first half battle, the Lady Rams ended the game in style with a big second half effort to take the win.

    ELIZABETH CITY, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (10-6, 4-2 CIAA) had to stage a second half rally, but the team pulled off a 66-63 win at Elizabeth City State (3-12, 0-6 CIAA), Monday evening. The win ended a two-game skid by the Lady Rams that saw a pair of WSSU rallies fall short. After trailing the Lady Vikings 32-29 at the half, the Lady Rams outscored the Lady Vikings 37-31 in the second half to take home the win.

After trailing for much of the game, the Lady Rams rallied in the final three minutes of play to take the win and opened Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) play with a 3-0 record.

The win was the team’s final game before the Christmas break and the squad went out on a high note, holding the Tigers to just 34 points in the game and forcing them to shoot just 25% from the floor in the game.

The Lady Rams definitely packed their offense for this road trip as the team scored more than 80 points in their third straight game and took their third win in their last four games.

After trailing by as many as 11 points late in the second half, the Lady Rams clawed their way back to tie the game, with just under 30 seconds left and forcing a turnover with just under 10 seconds left, the Lady Rams fell victim to a Lady Pioneer three-pointer at the buzzer that sealed the loss.

Fighting Scots (2-1), Monday evening. In a game that turned out to be a battle all evening long, WSSU senior forward Amanda Hairston hit a clutch lay-up with 14 seconds left to seal the victory for the Lady Rams.
