    CHARLOTTE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (11-17) gave it all they had, but they just couldn’t overcome some foul troubles and some tough defense in an 88-59 loss to the Shaw Lady Bears in the second round of the 2015 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women’s Basketball Championship Tournament, Wednesday. The Lady Rams finished the game with 31 total team fouls and three key foul outs in the game while shooting just 33.3% from the floor in the hard-fought loss.
  • Lady Rams Take 73-58 Win Over Chowan at CIAA Tournament

    CHARLOTTE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (11-16) exploded in the second half to take a 73-58 win over the Chowan Hawks (13-14) in the opening round of the 2015 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women’s Basketball Championship Tournament. After battling to a 27-27 first half tie, the Lady Rams outscored the Hawks 46-31 in the second half to take home the victory.

    HAMPTON, VA – Winston-Salem State senior forward Dionna Scott was named to the 2015 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) All-Conference team, Friday afternoon. She took home all-conference honors for the second time during her collegiate career after finishing the season as one of the team’s top overall performers.

    SALISBURY, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (10-16, 6-10 CIAA) gave it their all, but the team just could not get past the Livingstone Blue Bears (23-1, 15-1 CIAA), Saturday afternoon. The Lady Rams pushed the Blue Bears, the top team in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region to its limits, but they could not pull out the victory, Saturday.

Though there was no shortage of effort for the Lady Rams, the team just could not get past shooting struggles that plagued them for all 40 minutes of the game.

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State (10-14, 6-8 CIAA) clicked on all cylinders to take a 62-55 win over the Fayetteville State (8-15, 4-10 CIAA), Saturday afternoon. With the regular season winding down, the Lady Rams picked up a key victory in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division. The team took the win behind a stellar defensive effort that included forcing 27 turnovers and was combined with a solid offensive performance with the team scoring 38 second half points to take home the victory.

After falling behind midway through the first half, the Lady Rams turned up their defensive efforts to close out the game on a 15-0 run and took their second win in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) play, Wednesday evening.

The Lady Rams took the win behind a strong defensive effort when the team held the Lady Broncos to less than 30 points in both halves of the game and pushed their way to their first win over the Lady Broncos since 2012.
