Dexter Jenkins joined the Winston-Salem State University women’s basketball coaching staff in the summer of 2018. He comes to Winston-Salem State with a wealth of enthusiasm and a passion for the game and will look to help carry on the proud tradition of Rams women’s basketball.

Jenkins comes to Winston-Salem State after a season as an assistant coach at the University of Northwestern Ohio. During his time with the Racers, he helped to guide the development of WHAC Freshman of the Year and second-team all-conference guard, Emily Patton and first team all-defense and second team all-conference guard Kierra Billingsley. He also spent time as a graduate assistant director of basketball operations at North Carolina Central.

Jenkins is a 2008 graduate of North Carolina Central University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He also earned a Master’s degree in Physical Education. He and his wife, Shaleema, are the parents of one child, Dade.
