SALISBURY, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (23-4, 11-0 CIAA) had one of their best offensive showings of the season when the team took a 19-0 road win over the Livingstone Lady Blue Bears (0-17, 0-11 CIAA). The Rams took their most impressive win of the season as they not only scored 19 runs, they also held the Blue Bears scoreless.
The Rams took control of the game with some dominant performances at the plate. WSSU freshman outfielder Shauntaja Dedecker led the way when she went two-for-three at the plate with a home run and four RBI for the Rams. Fellow freshman Leah Ballard went three-for-three as well.
The Rams scored in four of the five innings played, especially in the third inning when the team scored nine runs.
WSSU sophomore Tia Robinson (11-1) took the pitching win. She started the game and went all five innings with no runs allowed on just one hit. She also totaled nine strikeouts in the win.
With the win, the Rams improve to 23-4 overall and remain undefeated in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) play at 11-0. The two teams would go on to complete the doubleheader later in the day.
