Lady Rams Put On Impressive Showing at Aggie Invitational

GREENSBORO, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams continued their great outdoor track & field season when the team put on an impressive performance at the 2014 Aggie Invitational. WSSU junior Tajanel McNeil and freshman Micalyne Zimmerman joined other Lady Rams in continuing to lead the way for the team with some impressive performances at the event.

McNeil once again had a stellar effort, winning the women's triple jump with a first place finish in the women's triple when she posted a 39'10.75" (12.16m) leap in the event. With the effort, she topped athletes from NCAA Division I programs, Elon, High Point, and North Carolina A&T.

On the track, it was freshman Micalyne Zimmerman who led the way for the Lady Rams when she placed fourth in the women's 800m run with a 2:18.22. Junior Nya Michaux added a sixth place finish in the women's 100m dash finals with a 12.25.

The Lady Rams will return to action this weekend when the team heads to Petersburg, Virginia to take part in the 2014 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Outdoor Track & Field Championship Meet.
