GREENSBORO, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams outdoor track & field team had some great performances at the 2014 Aggie Last Chance Meet hosted by North Carolina A&T State University. The Lady Rams' 4x100m relay team took center stage when the team posted a 45.98 to place second in the event. With the effort, the Lady Rams posted the fifth best NCAA Division II time in the nation.
The 4x100m relay wasn't the only impressive performance of the day with freshman Ty-Leah Hampton placing fifth in the women's 100m dash finals with a 12.08. She ran an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time of 12.01 in the preliminaries of the event. Junior hurdler Cruz Vargas-Sullivan added a provisional qualifying time of her own with a 1:02.26 in the women's 400m hurdles. She ran a 1:02.26 in the event.
In field event, junior Tajanel McNeil added a provisional qualifying leap of 39'00.25" (11.89m) in the women's triple jump
With the finish, the Lady Rams complete the outdoor track & field regular season and will await selections to the 2014 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championship Meet.
