Lady Rams Open Season with Great Performances

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State University women's indoor track & field team got the season started on the right note with some impressive performances at the 2014 JDL All Comers Meet at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C., Saturday.

Though this was their first action of the season, the Lady Rams looked sharp early in the season. The Lady Rams dominated the women's 800m run when sophomore Tametris Morrision recorded a 2:19.13 while fellow sophomore Micalyne Zimmerman finished second in the event with a 2:21.28 and sophomore Raven Hamilton added a third place finish at 2:27.41. The Lady Rams also dominated the women's 200m dash with senior Nya Michaeux tying sophomore Ty-Leah Hampton for first place with a 25.69 in the meet.

The Lady Rams closed out the day with an impressive performance in the women's 4x400m  as they won the event with a 4:00.50.  The Lady Rams' 'B' team also had a strong performance, placing third in the event with a 4:03.78.
