WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams closed out the 2015 Winston-Salem State Open in style with some more great efforts at the meet. The Lady Rams saw some great performances both on the track and in field events at the meet.
WSSU senior sprinter Nya Michaeux led the way for the team when she placed fourth in the women's 200m dash. She recorded a 25.67 in the event which was won by the reigning NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field national champion and the runner-up. The Lady Rams 4x400m relay team also had a great effort when they placed third in the event with a 3:56.70.
The Lady Rams also saw some great performances in the field events as well with sophomore jumper Ro'Daijah Faucette had a great performance in the women's triple jump when she placed third in the women's triple jump with a 37'2.25" (11.33m) leap. Fellow sophomore Lyssa Wallace-O'Neal also had a great performance as she reached the finals of the women's shot put. She placed ninth in the event with a 35'5.25" (10.80m) throw.
The Lady Rams won't have long to rest as the team will return to action next weekend when they head to Birmingham, Alabama to compete in the Emory Invitational.
