WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams closed out the Wake Forest Open with another great effort, Saturday. With some strong efforts in both individual sprints and relays, the Lady Rams kicked off the outdoor track & field season in style.
The Lady Rams' 4x100m relay looked strong in their first outdoor meet of the season. The team placed second in the event with a 46.15 in the event. With the event, the team recorded an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time. The Lady Rams' 4x400m relay team also had a good day when they placed sixth in the event with a 3:52.42.
Individually, the Lady Rams also had some great days as well. Sophomore sprinter Ty-Leah Hampton kicked things off in great fashion when she placed sixth in the women's 200m dash with a 25.03. Joining her in the top ten of the event was junior sprinter Raven Covington, who placed ninth with a 25.07. Sophomore Tametris Morrison also had a great day when she placed ninth in the women's 400m run with a 57.49.
