ROCK HILL, SC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams put the finishing touches on another dynamic performance with some stellar efforts on the second day of the Winthrop Invitational. The team saw several 2015 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field provisional qualifying times and five top three finishes at the meet.
The Lady Rams' dominant efforts began in the sprint events where the team took two of the top three spots in the event. Senior Nya Michaux placed second in the women's 100m dash with a personal record 11.79 while sophomore Ty-Leah Hampton placed third with an 11.97, both NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time. The duo continued their impressive performance in the women's 200m dash with another pair of top three finishes. Michaux and Hampton both tied for second place with a pair of 24.95 times. Sophomore Tametris Morrison also had a great day when she placed second in the women's 400m hurdles when she recorded a 1:03.23. The Lady Rams' 4x100m relay team closed out the efforts with a first place finish in the event. The team recorded an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time of 46.75.
