Covington, Hampton Lead Great Day at VertKlasse Meeting

HIGH POINT, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams once again showed their place as one of the top programs in the nation with some more impressive performances at the 2015 VertKlasse Meeting at High Point University. With some great efforts both on and off the track, the Lady Rams closed out the meet in style.

The Lady Rams sprinters set the tone with several strong efforts. Junior Raven Covington highlighted the day with a third-place finish in the women's 100m dash invitational section when she ran an 11.76, an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time. Sophomore Ty-Leah Hampton had another great day when she placed fourth in the women's 200m dash with a 24.48, also an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time. Sophomore Tametris Morrison had a second-place finish in the women's 400m hurdles with a 1:01.30, an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time.

The Lady Rams will return to action next weekend when the team heads to Charlotte, N.C. to take part in the JCSU Invitational at the Irwin Belk Complex.
