WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams made the most out of a cold and rainy day with some strong performances at the 2016 Wake Forest Open. The weather didn't stop the Rams from posting some very impressive performances on the second day of their first outdoor meet of the season.
WSSU junior Tametris Morrison set the tone when she won the women's 400m hurdles with a 1:02.11, an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time. Sophomore Ty-Leah Hampton also had a great performance when she placed eighth in the women's 200m dash with a 25.96.
The Rams' 4x400 relay team closed out the meet with a great effort when they won the event with a 4:01.40.
The Rams will return to action next week at the Winthrop Invitational in Rock Hill, S.C. For more information on Rams track & field, contact the WSSU Office of Athletic Media Relations at (336) 750-2143 or log on to www.WSSURams.com.
