ROCK HILL, SC – The Winston-Salem State Rams track & field team returned to action this weekend when the team took part in the 2016 Adidas Winthrop Invitational, Friday. Though competing in just their second outdoor track & field meet of the season, the Rams had some impressive performances against some top competition.
WSSU sophomore Ty-Leah Hampton led the way on the track for the Rams with a pair of top ten finishes. She placed eighth in the preliminaries of the women's 100m dash with a 12.21 in the event before placing fifth in the women's 200m dash with a 25.02 to qualify for the event finals. WSSU junior Lyssa Wallace-O'Neal led the Rams field events when she placed 10th in the women's shot put with a 41'4.5" (12.61m) throw.
