ROCK HILL, SC – The Winston-Salem State Rams track & field team closed out the 2016 Adidas/Winthrop University Invitational with some strong performances at the meet, including recording three top five finishes at the meet. Competing in their second outdoor meet of the season, the Rams are steadily improving early in the season.
Winston-Salem State sophomore sprinter Ty-Leah Hampton set the stage for the Rams when she recorded a pair of top five finishes at the meet. She placed fourth in the women's 100m finals when she recorded a 12.19. She followed up that effort with a fourth place finish in the women's 200m dash when she recorded a 24.71. WSSU junior Tametris Morrison placed third in the women's 400m hurdles with a 1:01.58, an NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field provisional qualifying time.
