BRADENDON, FL – The track & field season came to an end, Friday, when the junior duo of Ty-Leah Hampton and Fawzia Kheir gave some strong efforts at the 2016 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championship Meet in Bradenton, Florida. The two took part in their respective preliminary events against the top competition in the nation, Friday evening.
Hamton opened the day when she competed in the women's 200m dash preliminaries. She ran a 24.52 to place 15th in the event. Only the two top finishers from the three heats and the next two top times advanced to the event finals.
Kheir took the track as well when she competed in the women's 800m run. She placed 23rd in the event with a 2:15.43. Like the women's 200m dash, only the two top finishers from the three heats and the next two top times advanced to the event finals.
