LYNCHBURG, VA – The Winston-Salem State Rams women's indoor track & field team returned to action, Friday when the team took part in the first day of the 2017 Liberty Kick Off. All eyes were on the women's indoor pentathlon where the Rams had three participants in the events.
Winston-Salem State junior Rachel Bonham led the Rams' trio in the pentathlon. She finished the day with a team-best 2,980 points to place eighth in the event. Here best effort came in the 60m hurdles where she ran a 9.46 and placed eighth. She also placed fifth in the long jump with a 16'6.5" (5.04m) jump. Junior Dominique Chandler totaled 2,234 points while sophomore Halvandria McNeil added 2,069 points.
The Rams will return to action tomorrow when the team competes in day two of the meet. The meet is set for a 9:00 a.m. start with field events while running events are set to begin at 9:45 a.m.
