LYNCHBURG, VA – The Winston-Salem State Rams women's indoor track & field team carried on a solid season with some great efforts at the 2017 Liberty Kick Off. The team had some solid performances on the day.
The Rams were impressive in sprint events. Winston-Salem State senior sprinter Ty-Leah Hampton ran an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time of 24.77 to win the women's 200m dash. She was also impressive in the women's 60m dash with a 7.74 to place sixth.
The Rams also had some strong performances in field events. Senior thrower Lyssa Wallace-O'Neal led the way with a fourth place finish in the women's shot put at 39' 7.25" (12.07m). Freshman jumper Mikel Franklin placed fifth in the women's high jump with a 5'3" (1.60m) leap while junior Kylah Lewis placed seventh with a 5'1" (1.55m) leap.
