WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams women's indoor track & field team had another strong day, Sunday when the team took part in the UNC-Greensboro Dual Meet Madness at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C. Competing in front of a home crowd, the Rams put on a show with some great performances at the meet.
WSSU senior sprinter Ty-Leah Hampton continued to lead the way for the Rams with some great sprint performances. The highlight of her day came when she won the women's 200m dash for the second straight week with a 24.77 and for the second straight week in a row, she recorded an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time. She also had a great day in the women's 60m dash when she placed sixth in the event with a 7.74. In field events, it was senior thrower Lyssa Wallace-O'Neal who led the way for the Rams. She placed fourth in the women's shot put with a 39'7.5" (12.07m). Junior Rachel Bonham did carry another hard workload as she placed eighth in the women's pentathlon with 2,900 points.
