BESSEMER, AL – Winston-Salem State senior sprinter Ty-Leah Hampton placed 10th in the preliminary round of the women's 200m dash at the 2017 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Championship Meet, Friday afternoon. She ran a career-best 24.26 to place second in her heat and placed 10th at the meet.
The effort ended the indoor track & field season for Hampton and the Rams as the top eight finishers advanced to the championship finals.
Hampton and the Rams will now turn their focus to the outdoor track & field season as the team opens the season next weekend at the Bob Davidson Kick Off hosted by High Point University in nearby High Point, N.C.
