ROCK HILL, SC – The Winston-Salem State Rams track & field team is wasting little time in recording some impressive performances with some strong showings at the 2017 Adidas Winthrop Invitational. The Rams closed the meet in style with some great performances including notching a pair of NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field provisional qualifying times.
The Rams were especially strong in the sprint events. Highlighting the day was senior sprinter Ty-Leah Hampton who won the Octavia Goode Hank Zapf women's 200m dash with a 24.37, the first qualifying time of the day. She also placed third in the Hampton Inn & Suites women's 100m dash with a 12.08. Fellow senior Rachel Bonham also had strong day when she placed fifth in the Rebecca Holmes women's 100m hurdles with a 14.94. The Rams' 4x100m relay also highlighted the day when they placed second in the event with a 46.46, another NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time.
