MOUNT OLIVE, NC – The Winston-Salem State University Rams are gearing up for national competition and it showed when the team had some terrific performances at the 2019 Mount Olive Last Chance Qualifier, Sunday. The Rams posted some terrific results at the meet with the sprinters taking center stage.
The Rams stood out on the track, especially in the team's sprint events. One of the top performances came from sophomore Ma'Kyia Gayden, who ran an 11.77 to win the women's 100m dash. Her time was an NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field provisional qualifying time and placed her ranked 25th nationally. The Rams' 4x400m relay team was also impressive when they won the event with a 3:42.55. The team was an NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field provisional qualifying time as well and left the team ranked 13th nationally. The Rams' 4x100m relay team also had a strong day with a second place finish in the event with a 46.04.
