Taylor, Wilson Earn CIAA Weekly Honors

 

CHARLOTTE, NC – The honors just keeping coming in for the Winston-Salem State volleyball program as senior outside hitter Miranda Taylor and sophomore setter Rylee Wilson both earned weekly honors from the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA). Taylor was named the CIAA Offensive Player of the Week while Wilson was named the CIAA Setter of the Week.

Taylor brought home her first CIAA Offensive Player of the Week honor after a great week for the Rams. She led the team to a 1-1 record with 12 total kills in the two matches, including scoring eight against Claflin. She also added 22 digs and a service ace.

The honor was nothing new for Wilson, who was named the CIAA Setter of the Week for the second time this season. Last week, she finished the week with 57 total assists, including recording 41 assists in a three-set win over Claflin. She also totaled nine digs with four blocks, two kills and a service ace during the week.
