Final Stats

Raleigh, NC - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams volleyball team closed out their 2005 season with a 3-0 loss (23-30, 22-30, 18-20) to the Saint Augustine's College Lady Falcons in Raleigh, NC on Wednesday evening.  The loss prevents WSSU from competing in next weekend's CIAA Volleyball Championships as the Lady Rams fall to fifth place in the CIAA Western Division, one place out of championship consideration.

WSSU dropped the first game of the match 23-30 and was never able to recover as the Lady Falcons mounted an offensive attack that could not be overcome by the visiting Lady Rams. 

The home team Lady Falcons cruised to two more wins as they earned a 30-22 win in the second game of the match and closed out the match victory with a 30-18 win in game three.

Saint Augustine's College was paced by Aurea Griffith and Vittorio McDuffie who tallied 14 and 12 kills respectively in the win.  The Lady Rams were led by Cherena Douglass, Brandi Beane and Kendall Sutton who each recorded five kills in the match.

With the loss, the Lady Rams fall to 8-22 on the season, and close out their 2005 schedule 14 games below .500, their worst season since 1997.
